Why Your Gift Matters

Debt can be a wrecking ball — for finance, family, faith & mental health

Every helpseeker we walk alongside comes to us at a breaking point — behind on bills, drowning in interest, often alone and standing at the edge of a cliff, too ashamed to ask for help. 59% earn $2,201–$5,500 a month — squarely middle income; this isn't a fringe problem. It reaches every kind of household, not just the visibly struggling. Adullam exists to meet them there: with a listening ear first, and a practical plan for a financial restart second.

We walk with individuals and families of every race and religion across Singapore, be it low-income, middle-income, or high-income — negotiating directly with licensed moneylenders and creditors, and counselling helpseekers through the harder territory of unlicensed moneylender (loan shark) debt.

Every gift you give goes straight into that work — another counselling session held, another negotiation carried through, another family given room to breathe again. That's what your generosity makes possible, one helpseeker at a time.

Your gift isn't a line item for us — it's the reason the phone gets answered the next time someone calls in crisis.

Why We Exist

Our Vision & Mission

Vision

Championing overall well-being by offering individuals and families a financial restart — paving the way for mental wellness, renewed stability, and a future of financial freedom.

Inspired by Proverbs 24:11–12
Mission

Rooted in our faith and values, we provide support and practical solutions to empower individuals and families of all backgrounds in Singapore to achieve lasting financial sustainability and resilience.

What We Do

More than counselling — a full walk to financial restart

Adullam Life Counselling is a registered Social Service Agency and an NCSS member since 2017, championing financial restarts for individuals and families in debt distress, across every background in Singapore.

01

Individual & Family Support

Debt rarely touches just one person — it strains the whole family around them. So we work with the individual, and with their family too when they're able to come alongside.

02

Creditor Negotiation & Loan Shark Support

We negotiate directly with licensed moneylenders and other creditors on our helpseekers' behalf. Where unlicensed moneylenders (loan sharks) are involved, we counsel and walk with helpseekers through that specific difficulty.

03

Financial Freedom Education

Practical tools — budgeting, spending plans, and money management — delivered through our FWFF course, so those who attend can have a new perspective and better manage finances.

04

Mental Wellness, Woven In

Debt rarely arrives alone — it brings helplessness, fear, and sometimes a hopelessness that can tip into breakdown. We only have limited time with each helpseeker, but a clear plan and a listening ear can lift that weight — like finally being able to breathe again once there's hope to hold onto.

05

Peer Mentoring

Members who've walked the same road support new helpseekers through theirs — recovery is something we walk alongside people through, not something we simply hand them.

06

Structured Support Groups

Including our NCPG-partnered gambling support group, meeting every Tuesday evening — ongoing peer support for helpseekers affected by gambling-related debt.

Stories of Hope

Anonymised, in their own words — shared with permission.

I'm truly grateful and relieved I came across Adullam Life Counselling. With 8 licensed moneylenders and around $11,000 in debt, it was an overwhelming, unpleasant moment. Adullam went the extra mile to find a solution — giving me the chance to refocus on my life and enjoy precious moments with my family again.

Adullam's approach to debt counselling is non-judgmental — they treat you as a friend, whatever reason you got into debt. They helped me negotiate with moneylenders for a more comfortable payment plan, then a full loan restructure. That brought my stress level down and reduced the worries I carry every month.

Frequently Asked

Is this a formal event?

Business casual is suggested. Come comfortable — this is a warm, after-work evening, not a black-tie affair.

Is my ticket or sponsorship tax-deductible?

No — Adullam is a registered charity but not an Institution of a Public Character (IPC), so donations to us are not tax-deductible under Singapore law. We'll still provide a formal receipt for your records.

Can I bring a guest who isn't on the invite list?

Absolutely — reserve additional seats when you RSVP, or reach out and we'll add them to your table.

What if I can't attend but still want to support the mission?

You can make a direct gift any time using the "Give Now" button above — no ticket required.

Who do I contact with questions?
